Winners Announced in July 4 Holiday Home Decorating Contest-2019
Many of the winners in the July 4 Holiday Outdoor Home Decoration Contest for 2019 are not new to the contest and know what the judges and public want, and the Seward Rotary Club and SHS FBLA are excited to announce and recognize the many outstanding home decorations promoting Seward’s Fourth of July celebration. Named winners this year were the Keith and Ellen Gardiner Family at 214 Roberts Street for overall “Best Night Time July 4 Display” and the Terry and Connie Kamprath home at 938 Cherry Lane for the overall “Best Daytime Display” for July 4, 2019! Both will be awarded the First place trophies!

HOBY Students Serve Community Service in Seward and Seward County Historical Society
During the Hugh O Brian Youth (HOBY) Leadership Conference in Seward at Concordia University in early June, the students were asked to give a morning of community service—giving back to the community. This statewide leadership conference is offered to every high school in Nebraska-asking them to select one sophomore (10th Grade) leader to attend, learn leadership skills and take those skills back to their schools and incorporate them into their programs.

July 4 Royalty Honored at Seward Rotary Club Meeting
The annual introduction of the Seward Fourth of July Royalty for 2019 was introduced at the Seward Rotary Club meeting on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the Jones Bank auditorium. The honorees followed a noon luncheon, and short business meeting. John Owens was program Chair. He introduced Clark Kolterman who introduced the essay winners.
