The Centennial Mower
100 Years!

On March 28, 1925, our Club received its charter from Rotary International (no, we don't know why we are #1540 instead of #1975).  For 100 years, it has been the privilege of the men and women of Seward Rotary to serve our community and we thank the residents of Seward, past and present, for their support.  Here's to many, many more years of "Service Above Self" to come!
A Fun and Successful Event

Thank you to everyone who contributed to "Songs for Shade" and made it a great success!  Special thanks to Amber Fiala for her leadership of the event planning.

The Shade Project cost is $150,000 and as of yesterday, less than $40,000 remains to be raised.  The next major fundraising push will be during Seward County Gives (April 26-May 1) so please encourage family, friends, and neighbors to support the project.

Thank you also to the Rotarians who have participated in the 100x100x100 challenge (at least $100 for the project from each Seward Rotarian in honor of our 100th anniversary).  Right now, however, over 60% of us have not yet made a gift.  Let's get that to 100% by the end of April - if you haven't made your gift yet, please do so TODAY.

Thanks for your support!
Club Holding Day of Service

At its March meeting, the Board of Directors approved a proposal to hold the inaugural "Seward Serves" as a capstone to our centennial year celebration.  The event will involve acts of service in our community on Friday, June 6 and we're excited to announce that Rembolt Ludtke LLP will be joining us in this effort, with their entire Firm here in Seward that day.

Kurth Brashear is the Club's project chair for this event.  If you know of organizations that would have volunteer needs on that day or have a business that would like to have its team members take part in the day, please have them contact Kurth directly at kbrashear@remboltlawfirm.com or 402-405-0831.

More details to come but please make plans to participate if you can and hold it on your calendar.
Promoting Polio Plus

Thank you to Clark Kolterman for talking about Polio Plus with the more than 1,200 who attended the Memorial Health Care System's annual Health Fair on April 2, 2025

Invite Someone to Rotary
There's a lot already in the works for our Club's 100th Anniversary Year and the excitement is building.  Wouldn't it be great to capitalize on it by growing our Club?

According to one survey of Rotarians, 85% joined their current club because someone invited them.  So who do you know that would make a great Rotarian?  Now that you've thought of them, invite them to join you at one of our weekly meetings - perhaps Gov. Pillen's visit on August 28th - and introduce them to your fellow Rotarians.  After that, well, you joined, didn't you?

Attend Rotary More in '25
Whether you attend every week (hi, Ken!), once a month, once a quarter, here's the fact - our Club is better with you present!  If you haven't been in a while, attend Rotary this month.  If you're attending monthly, set a goal to attend twice a month in 2025.  Our weekly meeting is how we stay connected as Rotarians and best informed about how each of us, and our Club, can serve our community.  See you at Rotary!
