Gerald “Jerry” Meyer, Executive Director of the new Nebraska National Guard Museum in Seward, updated the members of the Seward Rotary Club at their recent weekly meeting held on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at noon. A luncheon, fellowship, short business meeting and reports was hosted by Seward Rotary President Elect Kurth Brashear. Clark Kolterman and Kevin Zadina were Rotary Club Program Co-chairs and they thanked the club for venturing out in the cold to hear this special update on the Nebraska National Guard Museum. Kolterman introduced Jerry Meyer and spoke on the grand positive impact their entire family has created since they moved to Seward just four years ago.
Chris Blanke, RN, of the Four Corners Health Department in York, presented a program to the Seward Rotary Club on “Suicide Awareness and Prevention” at their weekly meeting on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at noon at the Jones Bank Auditorium. A luncheon, fellowship, and short business meeting preceded the program. She was presented to the membership by Clark Kolterman, local program chair for January. Her presentation featured a power point titled “Nebraska Loss Teams-Surviving Suicide,” prepared by Dr. Dan Belau. She thanked the Seward Rotary Club for their interest in the topic of suicide and willingness to learn more on the subject, encouraging the members to “Be Part of the Solution!”
The School District of Seward's local Team Mate Coordinator- Lori Todd presented the TeamMate story at the recent Seward Rotary Club meeting on Wednesday, January 9th at the Jones Bank auditorium at noon! A luncheon, fellowship and brief business meeting preceded the presentation. Lori is also a teacher at the Seward Middle School.
She was introduced by Rotarian program chair Kevin Zadina. TeamMates is celebrating their 25th anniversary and she recognized local Rotarian TeamMates Jill Johnson, Brady Johnson, and John Owens! Rotarian Ken Schmieding has been a longtime TeamMate and his last student recently graduated!
She spoke on the history of TeamMates, requirements and shared success stories of the program-along with various statistics on the program!
